The faces of Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin

Kilmainham Gaol was very eerie not only because of it's history, but also because of the disturbing faces I had found within the architecture. Definitely worth the visit! The jail was active during the famine, and they were unapologetically cruel. Many of the crimes committed were induced by poverty, and many children were jailed here for stealing food.

The white boxes used to project out of the wall, and this is where some people would be hung. This was located at the entrance of the Jail for onlookers to see.
